While Do Imaginary People Have Real Friends? was tremendously rewarding for The RImster to create, he felt that he needed to tackle some more serious subject matter. So, inspired by Nabakov's classic novel "Lolita", The Rimster created Loli Pop. Loli Pop is a concept album narrating the life of a thirty-one year old man who becomes infatuated with a precocious thirteen year old girl after stumbling across her cellphone in a mall and seeing suggestive pictures of her on it. Each song is stylized like late 80's, early 90's pop, and this time the lyrics were written down before the recording. This album is much more focused than DIPHRF? and really shows growth in The Rimster's capabilities as a song-writer and lyricist. Over all, this quirky, poppy, and pointedly written album is a step in the right direction for The Rimster, and a lot of fun to listen to.
