"Liquid Tension" is the first album by Florentine jazz trio Electric Souls, to be released on June 2, 2023, anticipated by the single 'One, due, tre' to be released on May 12 with videoclip. Formed in 2020, after years of live performances and appearances all over Tuscany, the Florentine power trio - Dario Mangano (guitar), Alberto Palloni (bass) and Tiziano Pratesi (drums) - is ready to release its first album. The sound of the band and "Liquid Tension" narrows its eye to the new jazz movement in London that is rewriting the rules of the genre. A sonic experimentation that straddles drum'n'bass, broken beat, jungle and underground culture. All, of course, with a jazz approach. "Liquid Tension”, as the title suggests, moves fluidly through this multitude of genres, going on to delineate something new in the jazz soundscape. At the concept level, the band was strongly inspired by some places in the Florentine suburbs, where the record was conceived and which iconographically identify the underground landscape sought by the trio sonically. From the artwork, a painting depicting the Viaduct of the Ponte All'Indiano made by Dalia Mauri, through the titles of the tracks such as 'FLR' to the settings of the video clip of the single 'One, due, tre,' everything refers to a Florence different from the one we are used to seeing in postcards.
