Amy Arena is an artist originally from the East coast, but has been bouncing around the country picking up local styles and flavors with her. It is reflected in her music as each song could be perfect for whatever mood you are in at the time. Upbeat at times, sometimes contemplative, the range of the music shines in her latest release. This CD is a must have for any independent music enthusiast. Her two latest releases, are available on iTunes. Nevermind Me, (or is it Never Mind Me? There was a bit of a snafu in production) has a tango feel to it. Into the chorus, the tense feeling is balanced out with the spanish sounding guitar and the soft but humbling spoken word section. It is a song of empowerment and has a catchiness in its melodies. Liquid Reality is the other new release that opens with what sounds like a modified sampling of the Beatles' Strawberry Fields. That opening is where any similarity ends. Amy has a "I know what boys like" quality in her vocals in this song that is mirthful and fun.
