Leven is the second studio album of Dutch singer Maan, which was first released on 14 October 2022 via 8Ball Music. It was first promoted with a lead single of the same name released in December 2021. The album is a dance-inspired collection of songs featuring the singles “Nee Is Nee” with Bente, “Naar De Maan” with De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig” and the multi-platinum number one song “Blijven Slapen” with rapper Snelle. Coinciding with the release of the album, Maan released Leven De Film, a 30-minute visual companion to promote the record. The project was praised for its ambition and video production. The album Leven received mixed to positive reviews from critics. It debuted at #11 on the Dutch Album Top 100, earning Maan her fourth Top 40-album or EP in the nation. The collaboration “Stiekem” with The Hague pop trio Goldband was retroactively added to the album across streaming services. The song received widespread media attention because of Maan her relationship with Goldband member Karel Gerlach. Upon release, “Stiekem” became an immediate streaming success. Maan promoted the album at several television programs and at Pinkpop Festival. In December 2022, she performed several selections from the album at her headlining show at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.
