Album
Le Tigre is the debut studio album by the American feminist electro-punk band Le Tigre, released on October 26, 1999, by Mr. Lady Records. The album blends punk, electronic, and pop influences, characterized by its use of lo-fi synths, guitar riffs, and politically charged lyrics. Themes throughout the record address feminism, LGBTQ+ visibility, and social activism, consistent with the band’s riot grrrl roots. Tracks such as “Deceptacon,” “Hot Topic,” and “My My Metrocard” became defining songs of the group’s sound and message. Le Tigre received critical acclaim for its energetic production and outspoken lyrics, helping to establish the band as key figures in feminist and indie music movements of the early 2000s.
