Layover is the debut solo album by South Korean singer and BTS member V. Released on September 08, 2023, through Big Hit Music. The album relies heavily on R&B, jazz, soul, and pop sounds with lyrics focusing on love, heartbreak, and intimacy. On Aug 02, 2023, it was reported that V started collaborating with creative director Min Hee-jin for his upcoming studio project. V said that working with her was such a good time and all his ideas were used throughout the process. Big Hit Music announced the album on their social media on August 7. The post was accompanied by a visualizer that included the album title and revealed the six tracks featured on the record. On Aug 09, "Love Me Again" was released only on YouTube. Then two days after "Rainy Days" was released on all streaming platforms. The first track debuted at #10 with 3,77 million streams on Spotify Global Chart, while the latter one debuted at #12 with over 3.57 million streams. "Slow Dancing" was released alongside the album as the lead-single. It debuted at #10 with 4.74 million streams on Spotify. All tracks debuted inside the Global Chart with over 2.14 million streams, and 18.1 million streams for the album. On Sep 12, the music video for "Blue" was released, and on Sep 15, "For Us" too. All tracks were performed live on Music Show stages. All five music videos were filmed in Mallorca and Madrid, Spain, and were all directed by Dee Shin Donglee and produced by Min Hee-jin.
