Album
For those looking for a new group with moog and keyboard drenched songs ala The Rentals or The Hippos than The Reunion Show’s new album ‘Kill Your Television’ is a great place to start. Rambunctious and sugary, The Reunion Show manage to capture a well loved style from bands past, but they also diversify themselves from those same favorites with additions of their unique creative abilities and talents. These significant distinctions include: vocals by all of the four boys in the band, lead by not one but two singers; fun lyrics that contrast the expectations of such bubblegum style with a jagged, cynical edge; and hard, crunchy instrumentation resulting in a gruffer sound throughout. All the while maintaining that sweet candy pop, a candy so rock hard it will rot your teeth. The Reunion Show is Mark Thomas (Lead and Backing Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards), Brian Diaz (Lead and Backing Vocals, Bass), Derrick Sherman (Guitar, Backing Vocals), and David “Skully” Sullivan-Kaplan (Drums and Percussion, Backing Vocals). Having already developed a fan following from the internet and touring, these boys are ready to welcome the rest of the populace to the ‘New Rock Revolution’ with this, their first wide debut, album. As well as the riotous New Rock Revolution, the disc includes notable tracks sprinkled throughout: the catchy ‘Drop It!’; the wry and mocking ‘Star Training’; and every song is written with funky and quirky quips, such as this, found in ‘Alligator Love Trap’: One more thing
