Distressed over the fact that some people find jazz to be boring, Mr Lawrence set out to bring a more contemporary flare to the genre. His mission was to perk up the ears of people who might enjoy jazz a little more if it were placed in a different setting. Injecting more of a Hip Hop sound might do the trick. In a notable change from his 2004 " Mainstream" Jazz quintet release, The Jteam: Introducing the jteam, Mr Lawrence released the 2009 " Demo" as a fresh perspective in the quest to bend the ears of the non-jazz lovers. " If I could make a few heads bop, I know I'm off to a good start." A full length offering is currently in the works. It's the next step towards his quest to find the perfect splice of contemporary jazz and beat heavy hip hop sounds. Keyboardist/Composer, Jeffrey Scott Lawrence, hails from Teaneck, NJ. He started playing Piano at age 10 and by his early teens was playing in a variety of local bands and composing his own music.
