about this album

The Brooklyn band’s debut album "Jinx" is a brilliant successor to previous EPs "Crumb" in 2016, and "Locket" in 2017. With ten songs on the album clocking in at around 28 minutes, lead singer Lila Ramani’s exquisite yet powerful voice gives off an indie vibe while the synth, keys and sax, player, Brian Aronow, the bass player, Jesse Brotter, and the drummer, Jonathan Gilad, help compliment this, creating the perfect blend of jazz and psychedelic rock with a hint of blues. The distinct blend of these genres allows for spatial awareness to dissipate as one's brain becomes transfixed on the glorious sound it is attempting to transcribe: a hypnotic and euphoria-driven experience. As Crumb is still an unsigned band, the LP, in addition to all previous EPs, were independent releases. However, it seems as there is a benefit to full creative control; without label influence, the band can do things at it’s own pace and continue to make the style of music it loves.
