Album
David Bowden is an artist/poet based in the Blue Mountains, 100km west of Sydney, Australia. "Invisible People" is his first solo album, after a series of releases under the Space Remains name. "Invisible People" (with the exception of the title track, a collaboration with The Model School main man Brendan Wixted) was entirely written, performed & produced by David & represents an artistic breakthrough for him. The album is a dense & rich multi-layered suite of songs which could be likened to artists such as Spiritualized, Mercury Rev, Scott Walker, Leonard Cohen, Berlin-era Bowie, with a touch of dub & a smattering of acoustic balladry. The songs themselves are loosely themed on the preoccupations of contemporary life - love, hate, isolation, money, success, failure, magic, wonder, secrets, revelations, disgust, loss, redemption........ These songs were written & recorded in David's own studio over a couple of years. On this release David plays acoustic & electric guitar, keyboards, banjo, cimbala, percussion, drum programming, handclap orchestra, with a virtual string section, a choir made from multitrack mirrors, special magic smoke & of course his own voice.
