"Infest" is the second studio album and major-label debut by the American rock band Papa Roach, released through DreamWorks Records on April 25, 2000. The album features a nu metal and rap metal sound, incorporating rapped vocals and hip hop influences. It was certified 4× Platinum in the United States by the RIAA on December 6, 2024, making it the band's best-selling album. "Infest" peaked at number 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and was the 20th highest-selling album in the U.S. in 2000. The album earned Papa Roach a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Prior to "Infest," Papa Roach released three EPs and one studio album. The band formed in 1993, initially performing funk metal and rap rock. Their first EP, "Potatoes for Christmas," was released in 1994 on cassette by dB Records and later reissued on CD in 2003. Their debut studio album, "Old Friends from Young Years," was released in 1997 but did not secure a record deal. The second EP, "5 Tracks Deep," came out in 1998 and included the song "Thrown Away," which would later be re-recorded for "Infest." In 1999, the third EP, "...Let Em Know!," was released; all tracks except "Walking Thru Barbed Wire" were re-recorded for "Infest," while that song was later re-recorded for the band’s third studio album, "Lovehatetragedy" (2002). A demo released in 1999 featured the songs "Last Resort," "Broken Home," "She Loves Me Not," "Infest," and "Dead Cell," with "She Loves Me Not" later appearing on "Lovehatetragedy." Touring in 1
