Album
review by http://www.caraacaraunderground.com/ Colligere is a young hardcore punk outfit from Brazil that, according to the guys in Liberation, should appeal the fans of Swedens Children of Fall and Hungarys Newborn/Bridge To Solace. Totally true! Especially if we speak of the Hungarians, but when I first listened to them I got the feeling of being listening a lighter and less aggressive version of Shai Hulud. Incerto is for sure an album for those who like fast multi-melodic hardcore music with intense guitar melodies. Its a great balance between beauty and energy, between aggression and catchiness, and between heaviness and velocity. In order to spice this fast-melodic style up, the Curitiba combo throws some emotional atmospheric interludes, acoustic guitars, new school metallic mid-tempo rhythms and guitar solos that remind me of bands from the 70s. Rodrigo, the vocalist, closes the circle by throwing sung melodies and aggressive screams. The fact that Colligere is a very politically motivated band makes a fitting finale to an extraordinary hardcore punk album. Thumb up guys!
