This is a collection of songs that were mostly written by Joseph Murphy, before Twin Cats became the full band that it is now. Calling it a collection, however, would be a slight injustice, due to the amount of time and effort spent carefully piecing together samples, endlessly repeating guitar and vocal melodies, and fittingly, waves of delay and reverb. Immortal Beaches is a cohesive album, and if not particularly catchy, surely a good portrait of a man left alone in a basement with guitars and a computer, without heat, dreaming of the ocean.
