Icon is Brent Faiyaz’s third studio album, released through ISO Supremacy and UnitedMasters. The album serves as a follow-up to Faiyaz’s 2023 mixtape, Larger Than Life, and his second studio album, 2022’s Wasteland. Icon’s rollout began with two promotional singles, “peter pan.” and “tony soprano.,” which were both released on July 4, 2025. They were followed by “full moon. (fall in tokyo),” which was issued as the third promotional single on August 8. The fourth promotional single, “if. (spring in new york),” arrived on September 5. None of the four tracks ultimately appeared on the album’s tracklist. The album’s lead single, “have to.,” was released on October 31, 2025. As revealed in the song’s music video, Faiyaz had Icon completed and slated for release on September 19, 2025, before deciding to halt the rollout just one day before its release. The on-screen text reads: "brent faiyaz had ICON recorded and scheduled to release on september 19, 2025. the night before, brent sent us a group text pulling the plug on the album. Yo, I’m not dropping ICON tomorrow. he also had another lead single and music video. he scrapped those too, then sent us this. — ISO creative." On February 3, 2026, Faiyaz revealed the album’s cover and tracklist with four color variations each. He also unveiled a trailer for the album.
