I WANT THINGS TO BE BEAUTIFUL is a 3 track EP released on January 31, 2025, written and produced by Devi McCallion and mixed and mastered by fellow artist who Devi has collaborated with, Katie Dey. The backstory to this EP goes as follows, Devi was playing Fire Emblem and thinking of a female knight in a doomed nihilistic type of situation. She describes it as "Mud and dungeons, the smell of oil and wood fires, stinky wooden docks and public executions on a cold and overcast day." Thinking of these things in a romantic way, she doubts that it is just her who feels given up on something to live for, she feels like she's looking for something to die for instead. "Life could probably be amazing though." She says. Inspiring her to write I Want Things to Be Beautiful, someone told her that when flowers come out of the ground they're saying "life is amazing!". Finally, the EP is described as 10 minutes of depressive suicidal pop music (DSPM) made in January and February 2025, also fun fact: the song I Want Things to Be Beautiful was released on her 34th birthday.
