I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU is the fifth studio album by JPEGMAFIA, released in August 1st 2024. The album was first teased in January, 2023, where Peggy revealed he had three studio albums for 2023. The first would see its release in March, the Danny Brown collab, Scaring the Hoes. Peggy initially planned to drop the album on January 2, 2024, after the release of The Ghost~Pop Tape (Remastered + Original), which served as the second release of the trilogy. However, due to taking a break for the holidays and feeling the album would’ve felt rushed if released in the state it was in, its date was postponed until some later time in 2024. The 14-track album was preceded by two singles during it’s rollout: “don’t rely on other men” on June 17th (which was given an altered mix on the album version) & “SIN MIEDO” on July 15th. A two-minute trailer for the album was released on July 28th, playing a snippet of a song, now known to be the first half of “Don’t Put Anything On the Bible”, featuring vocals from artist Buzzy Lee, who previously collaborated with Peggy on the song “DOTS FREESTYLE REMIX”, the 16th track from his 2019 album “All My Heroes Are Cornballs”. It should be noted that the promo for this album (specifically the music videos for the two singles and the trailer) prominently features model and singer/songwriter Brooks Ginnan in a non-speaking/singing role.
