In pure commercial terms, Tucker’s second single for Strictly didn’t quite reach the levels of its predecessor ‘Beautiful People’. But quiz DJs and they’ll just as likely name check ‘I Get Lifted’ as their preferred Babs tune. Another example of Masters At Work’s stupendous power with vocal cuts, where ‘Beautiful People’ was about the song and the message, ‘I Get Lifted’ was first and foremost a club record and the icing on the cake was the ridiculously simple ‘Duck Beats’, a self-explanatory dub loop that’s loved to this day.
