Following on the heels of the "Another Drone In Your Head" EP on San Francisco's established dark/minimal/drag label Tundra Dubs, London's SOFT RIOT offers this collectable eight track compilation "Hyperbolic Masses" in a limited edition cassette/digital format. This release contains the three main tracks from the "Another Drone…" EP as well as a selection of newer material intended for inevitable official full length release on the near horizon. Soft Riot is a London based act consisting of one JJD (Jack Duckworth). With around fifteen years of output in various post-punk and synth bands, Soft Riot is where those paths and experiences meet in the here and now. Drawing inspiration from synthesizer-based film soundtracks of yesteryear, drones, early EBM, minimal wave, a bit of synthpop and a heavy dose of throbbing appregiated rhythms, Soft Riot is a science-fiction heavy sound that narrates the listener through today's fractured, excessive landscape with hints of black humour.
