Human Casualty is Ian's follow up album to Grand Delusions, and critics have hailed it as his best work. Just as on all his albums, Ian handles all the tasks involved in recording an album.. He writes all the songs, he plays all the instruments, he records and mixes all the tracks, and he self produces the whole project. The physical CD released by Blue FX Records was a limited edition pressing, featuring 3 bonus tracks that are not found on the digital release. The title of Human Casualty (an the song) came about two years ago, when a civil war in Syria broke out. Everyday news outlets showed the carnage, and there was no sign of help coming. Furthering this definition of Human Casualty, was the entertainment industry and how people have decided to entertain themselves (watching other people failing on nightly reality tv shows) only to feel better about their own poor lots in life....The album also gets deep and personal in emotional cuts like "Its Not Everyday" and "No Harm" . Another characteristic of Ian's includes instrumental songs, and this album bucks that trend by only having one instrumental piece "Intermission" which in its raw Black Sabbath like sound serves as a segue between songs. If you like thoughtful lyrics, rock with an edge, and creative song building, Ian's Human Casualty might suit you well.
