about this album

HR 8938 Cephei is a single by deadmau5 that was released on March 16, 2011 via mau5trap. The song was named after the eponymous star (alternative name - HD 221525) in the constellation Cepheus. It is the second brightest star in the firmament, second only to Polaris. Upon the track's release, Zimmerman humorously apologized to astronomers and anybody struggling to find information on the star, stating "So i googled “HR 8938 Cephei” and it took me four pages of results to finally find info on the distant star... :( sorry astronomers." An orchestral version of the song was produced for the 2018 album "where's the drop?". User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
