History is Emmelie de Forest's second EP and her first major release since she parted ways with Universal Music in December 2015. The EP was crowdfunded via PledgeMusic, as Emmelie de Forest was unsigned at the time of its production. The EP was commercially released on 9 February 2018. However, people who pre-ordered it via PledgeMusic received the full release - then titled Sanctuary - already on 17 November 2017.
