Album
Here for the Music is Dewey Wayne's debut album. Officially released in Janurary of 2010, it was recorded in mid to late 2009 at Cherry Ridge Studios in Floresville, Texas. Tommy Detamore and Dewey Wayne produced the album. The release earned Dewey an Academy of Texas Music nomination for "2010 Rising Star". Most of the guitar work was done by Big John Mills and earned the "Musician of the Year" award at the 2010 Texas Music Awards. Most of the bluegrass instruments were recorded at Sand Mountain Recording Studio in Albertville, Alabama. Since Dewey grew up on Sand Mountain, AL, he wanted to capture the unique bluegrass sound from that region. Therefore, the Gary Waldrep Band came in and played fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and flat-picking style guitar for the project. The recordings were then sent to Cherry Ridge Studios for mixing.
