Album
When large scale collaborations occur, the result is usually an album that has no direction. Fortunately, that wasn't the case with the HELLBENT collective. HELLBENT's first CD, titled 0.01, was released on 5th Colvmn Records and featured Eric Powell (16 VOLT), Bryan Black (HALOBLACK), Dylan (CHEMLAB), Levi (MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT) and a few others. After this album surfaced, the label it was on de-surfaced... folded, that is. Since it was such a quality out-of-print offering that had virtually no distribution or promotion, Re-Constriction has selected the best tracks and stitched them alongside a whole bunch of new material. HELIUM brings together ideas that were never brought to light after the 0.01 sessions, yet still continues in the HELLBENT tradition of abstract electronic experimental pop with a touch of guitar. The newer tracks on HELIUM were recorded and mixed in London and Minneapolis by Bryan Black with John Golden of EMF, Levi of TKK, Jeff Leyda of AUTUMN and Joel Allard of HALOBLACK.
