Heavy Sleeper is the first full-length release from Sydney four-piece Milkmaids. Released 30 September 2013 Spearheaded by the sweltering lead single Garden, Heavy Sleeper provides 8 tracks of dark, angry and unrelenting guitar rock, underpinned by a precise, pummeling rhythm section and powered by colossal, distortion-laden riffs, searing guitar solos and howling, irascible vocals. With most of the recording taking place in one day in a small studio in Marrickville, Heavy Sleeper attempts to capture the live power of the four-piece which earned them their loyal following, with 8 potent songs written over the past 6-8 months of gigging (with the exception of audience favourite and setlist mainstay Up In Smoke). Mastered by Grammy-award winner William Bowden, the album will be available digitally and on a limited CD pressing via the Milkmaids Bandcamp and at upcoming shows in Sydney over the next few months.
