Hugh Banton has been organist with prog-rock pioneers Van der Graaf Generator from 1968 until the present day, as well as Technical Director at church organ manufacturer Makin Organs during the 1980s & 90s. Currently he designs and builds digital church organs and has developed his own organ-simulating PC software, 'HB3': http://www.organworkshop.co.uk/hb3. In January 2019 Hugh Banton released an album of Bach organ music entirely generated by HB3. Further recordings are planned in the future as the system continues to be developed.
