Album
Available only on Bandcamp. Name your price! Released February 26, 2013, as a digital-only LP on Dive Records, Green Is Good is the first installment in a four-album series entitled Dogs Of Bushwick, to be released throughout 2013 and 2014. Green Is Good is first new album from The Sharp Things since their critically acclaimed A Moveable Feast The album was recorded between October 2009 and December 2012 at The Kennel Recording Studio in Brooklyn, New York, by producer Billy Polo (who also recorded Feast). Overall, Green Is Good deals with the affliction of greed and class disparity, kicking off with the anthemic "Blame The Bankers"; cascading into "The Piper," featuring vocal support from Mary Lorson (Saint Low, Madder Rose); ambling through the starving-artist plight with "Here Comes The Maestro" and the series' title track, "Dogs Of Bushwick"; and through to "Lights," (the first collaboration between Sharp Things bandleader Perry Serpa and guitarist Jim Santo); "I Know You're Gonna Break My Heart," (featuring noted country singer Laura Cantrell); and wrapping with "Back Down The Rabbit Hole," a disco song about the debt crisis. In a first for the band, Green Is Good is being sold on a "name your price" basis on Bandcamp. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
