Goodbye is the follow up to One Like Son's debut album Love Songs for the Apathetic. One Like Son's sophomore record took a big step forward in terms of production value and musicianship. While prepping for Goodbye, the group split, leaving frontman Stephen Poff with the decision about whether to carry on. Carry on he did, scrapping the initial work and writting 13 new songs that were strung together in to form a story for which Poff had penned a comic book work for. During this period Poff put Goodbye on the backburner to work with bands Silverstone and 12 Stones. Poff finally finished the record with a little help from friends, and added Chistmas Day, the only song that features the original band members. Goodbye Contains much of Poff's best songwriting including the anthemic title song, the driving The Road and Disconnected. Sadly Poff's became disenchanted with the band dynamic while working in Silverstone and 12 Stones and by the time Goodbye was finished Poff had little energy to put behind an official release. Consequently the work was only given a half-hearted release on a few internet sites. Recently the record has taken on a new life with the inclusion of Goodbye, The Road and Disconnected on the soundtrack to the feature film Songs About Your Girlfriend.
