The musicians in Graffiti are all excellent, but their music on Good Groove often sounds a bit like a "Music Minus One" record, an album in which one is waiting for the main soloist to show up. The four-piece rhythm section sets "good grooves" and certainly shows strong musicianship, which is not surprising considering that drummer Dennis Chambers is in the group. But none of keyboardist Haakon Graf's originals are memorable, the solos do not stick in one's mind, and the individual selections are pretty interchangeable; also Marvin "Tuffy" Cummings' short rhythmic vocals do not leave an impression.
