Album
"God Shuffled His Feet" is the second studio album by Canadian band Crash Test Dummies, released in 1993. The album includes the band's most well-known single, "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm". The cover art features the band members' faces superimposed on the figures from Titian's painting "Bacchus and Ariadne". Commercially, it is the band's most successful album, selling over eight million copies worldwide. The album was Crash Test Dummies' biggest mainstream success. AllMusic writer Stephen Thomas Erlewine attributed its popularity to "Jerry Harrison's remarkably clear and focused production" and noted that aside from the pop-oriented singles "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" and "Afternoons and Coffeespoons," the album is stylistically similar to the band's debut. "God Shuffled His Feet" reached number one on the album charts in Austria and New Zealand and entered the top five in countries including Australia, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland. It also reached number six in the Netherlands, number two in the United Kingdom, and number nine on the United States Billboard 200. In Canada, the album peaked at number 11, but all four of its singles reached the Top 20, contributing to the album achieving triple platinum certification.
