Album - Generic Flipper is the debut LP of the San Francisco-based punk rock band Flipper (started in '79), which was released towards the end of March, 1982 - by local independent recording label: Subterranean Records. Other known aliases for the album are: Album, Album: Generic, Generic Flipper, and just Generic. In 1992, an effort to move forward with the first CD release of the album under American Recordings, was failed. In 2008, after rights were regained by Flipper, and the album was reissued on December 9th of that year. Krist Novoselic (formerly, bassist for the Seattle punk rock/grunge/alternative band Nirvana), who had joined Flipper two years prior to the release (2006), contributed linear notes to the new issue.
