After 1970's Concerto for Group and Orchestra, Ritchie Blackmore insisted that any of Jon Lord's future work combining classical and rock music be done outside Deep Purple. Gemini Suite was Lord's next such work. It included Purple band mates Roger Glover and Ian Paice, Purple Records labelmate Yvonne Elliman, Lord's friend Tony Ashton and Albert Lee covering similar ground to the Concerto. 1.
