Album
Laura LaRue says the inspiration for the album entitled French 75 grew out of a desire to try something musically "outlandish" and outside the realm of her comfort zone. It was a collaboration with producers Happy Sanchez & Andrew Stern. Laura herself has said that the feel of French 75 is pure vintage kitsch mixed with modern pop sensibilities. What she imagines an album by Edith Piaf and Burt Bacharach might sound like. The songs on F75 vacillate in feel from disco, to R & B, to swing, 60's ye-ye, rap & operetta. Laura goes on to say that she and her producers tried to marry their various musical influences with strong pop hooks on every track. Laura also notes that the common thread throughout F-75's sound is the blend of French and English -Frenglish if you will.
