The compilation album Freewave, is the first installment of the iconic Freewave trilogy. The project contains ten freestyles that have been either released with the project or released as singles up until release day. In this project, Lucki refines his more traditional trap flow first attempted in his previous project, X, and a part of his transition period between his old sound and current sound. Freewave would also be the last project under the name “Lucki Eck$"—which he officially changed on January 25, 2016—with the release of DEJA VU.
