"Free Download 2010" was self-released by 1774 on the 7th of June, 2010, by uploading a .rar file including 4 songs and a .pdf to Megaupload. Initially, there was neither an actual title nor any artwork, but as people needed a way of referring to the download, "Free Download 2010" quickly came into use. When several black metal/dark ambient blogs started to upload the free download themselves, they used an image from the official 1774 MySpace page to accompany the download. The band ultimately followed this example and started to use the image, as can be seen on this page, as the semi-official artwork. The official, initial Megaupload download can still be found through the official 1774 MySpace blog. The third track, "Von der Suche nach Seelenruhe - Wo das Leben sterben wird", was featured on the "Tamanui Te-RA" compilation by Kalpamantra Records (free download, October 8th 2010). In 2011, the download was 're-released' by Kalpamantra Records. All four tracks will be included on a future full-length CD.
