Forlorn is the self-released debut EP of North Carolina-based contemporary composer Cohen Mejan. This EP was recorded over the course of three months on the biggest upright piano in the world. Mixed and mastered by Cohen Mejan himself, this EP was released on October 17, 2019. Forlorn has mostly received positive reviews from the critics. Matt Jensen from 'Divide and Conquer Music' has written about Forlorn: "A lot of contemporary classical is introspective especially music from the aforementioned composers. The same can be said about Cohen Mejan. On his release Forlorn he explores textures and tones which induce a meditative stillness and clarity. Just by listening to the music you might feel like you are looking at a body of water or looking at landscapes from upon a mountain." Forlorn has showed a fragment of what to expect from talented artist Cohen Mejan. This EP is the flawless beginning of Mejan's artistic journey of music. The pianist's debut LP is yet to be released and Forlorn just increases the Ambient Piano fandom's appetite for it.
