The four song demo Forest Fires e.p. by Kevin Peckham was hacked together in a series of live takes in Peckham's kitchen in Burlington, VT in the winter of 2003 over sequenced drum beats. It represents his first experiments with electronic beats and layered instrumentation. Especially prominent in Forest Fires is the repeating bass hook, foreshadowing Peckham's role as bass player for the NYC post-rock band Ghost Ghost. This song was later re-recorded by Ghost Ghost on their debut e.p. Time is Gravity (that version can be found here: Forest Fires) and their two-song demo Lightning Demo (that version can be found here: Forest Fires (Demo Version).
