FLYGOD is Buffalo rapper Westside Gunn’s debut album released on March 11, 2016 and was influential towards the New York underground along with introducing the world properly to Gunn and his Griselda crew. The album’s themes are mainly laced with griminess, self reflection, wealth, flossing and in general introducing to you who Gunn is, his experience, what he lives through and has had to live through, plus how he can floss really well. Its set on a balance between the vanity, the grimy and the at times thoughtful. The album is focused on either jazzy, lo-fi or unsettling instrumentals mostly provided by Griselda in-house producer Daringer but also features production by Statik Selektah, Roc Marciano, Apollo Brown, Camouflage Monk, The Alchemist and Tha God Fahim. Beside fellow Griselda members Conway The Machine and Benny The Butcher, FLYGOD also includes vocal features from Danny Brown, Action Bronson, Roc Marciano, Mach Hommy, Your Old Droog, Skyzoo, Meyhem Lauren, Chase, and Keisha Plum.
