'First Thoughts On A New World' is the album I hope that will be the best set of songs I ever put together.. Having already taken over 6 years for me to finish, this album was written about the loss of my beautiful girlfriend Lizzie in a car accident in 2005. It is an incredibly personal album, filled with all the thoughts that were rushing through my head in the few months after she died. There was only one song finished before Lizzie died 'Round Here Like You'. I recorded this 10 days before she died, and was the only song dedicated to her that she ever got to hear. The other songs are made up of my 'First Thoughts' on this new world surrounding me, and all of the feelings both good and bad that made up the coming months/years. Still very much a work in progress, this has been an impossibly hard album for me to record for. Whilst the songs are written, I have tried to take the time to ensure this will be a fitting tribute to the 'Bright Light' that I lost.
