Chris Coco - Feel Free Live Good DJ / producer Chris Coco is back with a super-Balearic, eclectic selection of mellow electronic music. After adventures with the band City Reverb and performing as the DJ element for Robbie Williams, as well as his usual circuit of global DJ dates, compilations, mixes and radio shows, Coco took a few months out to prepare these musical delights at 99, his studio in Camden, London. With the help of a laptop, a microphone, some very old synths and a bunch of good friends who would pop in and lay down vocals and musical parts for Coco to manipulate and process, he has created a wonderful collection of tunes. “It’s amazing what you can get people to do for a bowl of pasta and a couple of glasses of Rioja,” reflects Coco on the laidback but fruitful recording experience. This album will work at a beach side barbecue or an intimate dinner party, but there is enough going on for it be a good headphone listen too. Though the music ranges from deep house to ambient to chillout to dub it is all held together by an atmospheric, almost romantic feel that he brings to all his productions. Steve Miller from chill dons Afterlife called it ‘fresh and quirky’ and there is a playful quality to the stylistic mash up.
