This is the self-titled EP of Falcon Arrow released in the Spring of 2009. It was released as a limited and numbered edition of 50 CD-Rs as well as digitally. The CD-Rs are sold out. This was the first release for Falcon Arrow with the of line-up Matt Reints on bass and Dav Kemp on drums. It was the June 17th, 2009 co-record of the week on Now Like Photographs. Here's what some people said: Falcon Arrow create epic soundscapes of just looping bass guitar and restrained drums. -Now Like Photographs Well, with a duo of bass and drums playing self-described "art rock," Zombi might seem like the obvious reference point for a critique of Minneapolis-bred Falcon Arrow, but aside from the superficial similarities, there's nothing to link the two bands at all. In fact, Falcon plays what, in the June of 44 era, would perhaps have been considered archetypal post-rock with a lot of repetition and steadily building dynamics. I should point out an important word choice - archetypal instead of stereotypical - a distinction that means the difference between being an exemplar of all that is great and being completely run of the mill. Rest assured that Falcon Arrow is much closer to the first category than the second.
