June 2008- The new CD release by Funkasaurus Rex is entitled "Etched in Stone" The members of this jazz-funk group are among the best players in the NYC music scene. All of these busy veteran musicians are successful with their own careers. Formed in 2005 by saxophonist Joey Berkley, Funkasaurus Rex is about musical integrity and precision. "Etched in Stone" is a collection of familiar songs that will completely take you by surprise. The writing is inventive and demanding, showcasing the talents of the horn section and the rhythm section. Together they create a musical force that grooves hard.
