After the magnificent debut Without Limits EP, which took the world of electronic music by storm, Akasha FX are back to Filter with another five-track selection that should cement their position as one of the finest electronic projects of our time. They have created a monster on the previous release, and now it is fully unleashed and roaming the streets in search of victims. The average pop consumer would probably still find the previous outing more accessible, but this one is miles deeper and as twisted as possible. And at the end of the day, who cares about the average pop consumer. On Eli Star EP, Akasha FX have pushed their effects units to the max. There is an unexpected contrast of simple sweet melodies and the dark and hard arrangements knitted around them as evident on Ocean and Long Road. On the other hand, there is the straightforward trancey banger Bumble Bee, which could urge Underworld to sit down and take notes. And there are two more precious dancefloor gems - I Want, which is of the type of songs Leftfield were known for and AkaFX-5, a pure electronica classic in its own right.
