Album
Dance music’s got no shortage of highly ‘individual’ characters, but few as complex as Missouri-born DJ and producer Osunlade. The artist known for appearing with a bone through his nose is a fully-fledged priest in the traditional African religion Ifa, and this deeply spiritual approach to life is reflected in his latest long-player ‘Beyond Elements’. Partly inspired by recent travels in Turkey, it’s an album Osunlade himself describes as ‘eclectic and non-commercial’, and which will delight those who like their house music deep and soulful with strong ethnic influences.
