EIGHTY PROOF is BLCKK's third full-length album. After feeling burnt out after his prior album, 22101, BLCKK didn't really know what to work on next. He found some success with singles like THNX, :(, and YELLING FIRE IN A MOVIE THEATER, but after he went on the first tour with Spider Gang he received a few beats from SKOTSKR, and one of those beats resulted in the song BACKPACK. He showed some of his friends the song to incredibly positive reception, so he and SKOTSKR decided to continue sending things back and forth. A few of the songs on the album are also produced by BLCKK himself, being SICK, RED ROOM, and BUSINESS. However, BLCKK credits SKOTSKR as the sole reason this album happened.
