"Dry Spell" is a song by the American singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves. It was released on March 11, 2026, through Lost Highway Records. The song serves as the lead single from Musgraves's seventh studio album, Middle of Nowhere (2026) Loving washing machines & peering into the Sahara Dessert representative of the hodiernal dating pool, “Dry Spell” describes a lonely with an H period of time, which can take various shapes and sizes in desperation and loneliness, yet also inner reflection and discovery in the humour of your own life’s troubles. Kacey Musgraves, interviewed by NPR, herself stated about the single as such::“I typically always have been in relationships. This was the longest period in my adult life where I was on my own, and I had gone through a break up. I was taking stock of my relationships and what I want in my life, and really learning how to lean into being alone. I started really loving my singledom. It was a long time without any intimacy with anyone else, and I had always feared that before I experienced it, just having this notion that I needed someone to be happy, which I found to be completely untrue. I wrote the title down — "Dry Spell” — and because going through. I wrote most of this record in the longest single period of my life. And it was really fun to be back in the room with so many of my old collaborators and friends, Shane , Josh Osborne, Luke Laird. Nobody does humor better than those guys, and I was craving humor again. That was a big
