about this album

Pete: Drift is actually cobbled together from recordings from our first US tour, same one that LDWC 1 was recorded during. But I took all of these more amorphous pieces and edited them and layered them. Usually with YS recordings it’s one jam, but this was more about assembling sympatico vibes. I think I was already in the process of patching this thing together when I met Jefre Cantu, who had known Gabriel before he moved to Portland. So I was working on this when we first landed in Oakland and Jef was just starting up Root Strata. I think this is a perfect release for RS still, and remains one of my favorite releases from that era.. When we landed in the bay it was like we just fell into a like-minded artistic community right away. Right place, right time. Tom Carter, Gerritt, Axolotl, The Skaters, Jefre and all the Tarentel folks… Lots of like minded folks and this one was a whole puff of smoke that aligned with the new scene.. credits released April 1, 2005 GMS - Guitar, Electronics Pete Swanson - Vocals, Electronics, Drum Machine Recorded in 2004 Produced by Pete Swanson Art by JC Ledesma User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
