Doce Veneno is the debut studio album by Brazilian singer Wenny, scheduled for release in 2025. The album is produced by Umberto Tavares and presents a modern pop sound, blending contemporary influences with elements of Brazilian music and bold, theatrical visuals. On June 20, 2025, Wenny released “Upgrade”, a collaboration with her sister Lexa. The single was accompanied by an official music video featuring choreography, further building anticipation for the album. The track follows the success of “Checkpoint”, Wenny’s debut single, which surpassed 1 million streams on Spotify and received strong radio support in Rio de Janeiro. Doce Veneno includes compositions by celebrated Brazilian artists Cazuza and Frejat, with the approval of Cazuza’s family. As a tribute, Wenny wore one of Cazuza’s original bandanas during recording sessions and promotional events, highlighting the symbolic connection to his legacy. The album explores themes such as authenticity, the contradictions of fame, and the complexity of adolescence. Despite her young age, Wenny has gained attention for her expressive style, resilience in facing public scrutiny, and commitment to artistic identity.
