about this album

Disinterest was the 1990 debut album by English indie band The Servants. The band featured singer-songwriter David Westlake and Luke Haines. Disinterest is arty, experimental and notable for Westlake’s fabulously mordant lyrics. Disinterest’s inclusion in Mojo magazine’s 2011 list of the greatest British indie records of all time led to the 2012 release of the Servants’ second album, Small Time / Hey Hey We’re The Manqués. Album and band would prove to be a huge influence on Belle and Sebastian songwriter Stuart Murdoch.
