Album
London’s BURN DOWN ROME are not your average noisy youths - any band that can legitimately cite BOTCH, MOGWAI, AT THE DRIVE IN, REFUSED, THE SMITHS and everyone in between as their influences were never going to be. Thirty Days Of Night released their mini album ’Faith In Liars Faith In Thieves’ in 2007, described by Rock Sound as “adventurous, brooding, epic slabs of post-rock-inspired hardcore.” On their debut album DEVOTION, released 15th September 2008 through Visible Noise, the band use their heavy background as a springboard to progress into unchartered territory, to challenge the often single minded scenes they have been confronted with along their journey. And if that means diving into the audience and grabbing the floorboards during their epic live performances, then so be it. Make no mistake in judging these youths on their age alone, they have ability, honesty, integrity and imagination well beyond their years, desiring to connect with and change the lives of their listeners. DEVOTION has given the band freedom to explore their unique sound, whether it be the accessible guitar hooks of Apathy (already played by Dan Carter on Radio One), the down and dirtiness of Debauchery, or the intelligent soundscapes of the title track.
