Der schwarze Hai was Kaisa’s fourth release in 2008, following the street album Dorn im Auge, the Keine Wärme EP, and the collaborative album 666 with MC Basstard. The album continues Kaisa’s exploration of dark, aggressive themes, characteristic of his horrorcore style. It features a mix of solo tracks and collaborations, with lyrics delving into topics like societal critique and personal struggles. Promotion and Reception: In a departure from his previous releases, Kaisa employed a comprehensive marketing strategy for Der schwarze Hai. This included a revamped official website aligned with the album’s artwork, an eleven-minute video statement previewing tracks, and the release of snippets and a music video for the single “Minus Null.” Additionally, Kaisa hosted a record release party in Halle and an autograph session in Chemnitz. Despite these efforts, the album did not achieve chart success. Legacy While Der schwarze Hai did not attain mainstream commercial success, it stands as a significant work in Kaisa’s discography, showcasing his dedication to the horrorcore genre and his commitment to thematic depth and production quality.
